Operating principle is quite simple and is a Machine Tool and Fabrication patented design. Affixed to and wrapped around a rigid steel roll and the bottom and suspended above the door opening, the unit is raised and lowered by push button control. A compact electric motor and gear reducer attached to the roll end, creates direct torque on the roll. winding it up. As the door is raised, it carries the motor and drive mechanism up with it...leaving the doorway completely clear. Door is lowered by reversing the drive direction.
The action is smooth and quiet. Vertical guides at the sides or the door opening stabilize the roll as it travels up or down. When closed, the roll is in contact with a special floor seal and curtain compresses jamb side seals to make a weather-tight installation. Door may be stopped at any point in its up or down movement.
