|
Q: How does this door work in high
winds? |
|
A:
Our base doors are rated for 75mph
wind loading and can be upgraded to
120mph. All doors are fully
operable in wind conditions up to
35mph. |
|
Q: What sizes are the doors
available in? |
|
A:
Our doors are custom built to fit
the building opening with sizes
ranging from 35’ wide to 145’ wide
with heights up to 50’ tall being
available. |
|
Q: Are there different colors
available? |
|
A:
White is the stock and recommended
color for our doors. The white
color allows the curtain to maintain
a translucent effect and allows the
most light to filter into the
building. Other colors are
available at additional costs but
are not highly recommended. |
|
Q: How long will the curtain
material last. |
|
A:
The average life expectancy for the
curtain is around 12-15 years.
However, we have replaced curtain
that have been in service for over
30 years. |
|
Q: Is this a new product? |
|
A:
No. Our doors have been in service
for over 30 years, with some of the
first units installed in the late
1960’s. |
|
Q:
Can this door be used in any
climate? |
|
A:
Yes. Our doors are in service all
over the world. In cold northern
climates the ice and snow do not
stick to the door so it remains
serviceable in all weather
conditions. In warm climates the
doors can be opened partially to
allow cool breezes in while blocking
the afternoon sun. |
|
Q:
Are these doors available outside
the United States? |
|
A:
Yes. We have shipped our doors into
Canada, South America, Australia and
Afghanistan. |
|
Q:
Can the door be manually operated? |
|
A:
Yes. All doors are supplied with
electric operators and controls.
Each door is also supplied with an
emergency hand crank for each drive
to be used in the event of a power
failure. |
|
Q:
Does this door seal well? |
|
A:
Yes. Our door has the fewest number
of required sealing points of any
product available. While most doors
require a moveable seal at the top,
sides, bottom and through the middle
of the door; we only require seals
at the sides and bottom, the top is
a solid attachment and the opening
is covered with one complete sheet
of material. |
|
Q:
How much does the door weigh, and
what loads does it impose on the end
walls. |
|
A: Our door weight is negligible when
the header of the building is
designed to accommodate the wind
loads that will be transferred to
the building. This information is
supplied on the “Lintel Load” chart
with the door specifications.
